Someone once told me “You tug on one corner of the world, you’ll see the rest of the world move with you.”. Not sure where that saying came from, but as I grow into my career as a teacher I see that wisdom more and more present in what I do. I find that I can no longer grow alone, and neither can any other teacher or student. It is with in mind that I have the following goals for this blog:
- Share what I am doing in my classroom and career with you to get your feedback as to how I could improve.
- Share new ideas that I try so that you can experiment and improve in your teaching and learning.
- Give insights to those of you who are not teachers, but are interested in education, on what a teacher can go through, and give you chance to leave feedback.
I admit that this blog will probably become two-headed in purpose: it serves my needs in growth and it will serve your interests in growth. I look around at other ed blogs and twitter accounts and I am very excited by what I see! I hope that this is the beginning of something good…
Site Notes and Accreditations:
- I try my best to accredit any original ideas or media to their originators. If I fail to do this, please let me know via twitter so that I may change it. I apologize in advance as I try to recognize the hard work of people who create for a living.
- Any opinions expressed in this website are my own and personal. They do not reflect the opinions, decisions, or will of the students, parents, school, or school district that I teach for.
- Please be respectful with your comments. I will remove any comments I feel do not respect me or others at a basic level. By basic level, I define it as “how would this comment look on the front page of a national newspaper?”. If the answer is anything “not good at all”, don’t post it or I will remove it.
- The “Teach” image is respectfully used from http://inspireteachers.org/, and was designed by Hyperakt. Please take a look at their attempts to redesign the imagery/branding behind teachers. I was never a fan of the apple.
